Low cost fees

The NHC Primary Care Network Practices strive to provide affordable healthcare services and charge very low fees for standard GP or Nurse Consultations. In most cases, you can expect to pay on average $17.50. Children under 6 years of age are free for a standard consultation with your doctor or nurse.

Why enrol with us?

Enrolled members of the National Hauora Coalition Primary Care Network receive all standard services that you would expect from good general practice including :

  • Reduced fees at your regular NHC medical practice
  • Standard consultations will cost you no more than $17.50 (often it will be cheaper than this, and sometimes even free)
  • Access to regular breast and cervical screening and immunisation services
  • Management of chronic diseases - i.e. diabetes
  • Heart and diabetes checks
  • Access to maternity care services
  • Smoking cessation

In addition we deliver services underpinned by a whānau ora approach that recognises the whole person in context of their total family and living situation.

Many within our network offer additional services depending on their expertise:

  • Primary Mental Health Services
  • Minor Surgery
  • Women’s Health
  • Improved access to diagnostics

To receive these benefits, patients must be eligible and entitled to receive New Zealand Health Services and be registered at a General Pratice/enrolled with the NHC

How to enrol?

Enrolling with us is easy.
Please visit the general practice of your choice from our network and ask the practice reception staff to be enrolled. You will be provided with information about the benefits of your enrolment. You will also be informed of how your personal information is managed.

  • You will be required to provide or confirm your personal details for inclusion on the NHC Network enrolment register.
  • You may have to provide information to confirm your eligibility.
  • You will need to sign an enrolment form (dependents under 16 years of age may be signed for by parents or other authorised representatives).
  • You will be given an opportunity to request that your medical notes be transferred from your previous provider(s)
